Here at Alternative Pathways, our health coach works with you to empower you and help you develop and achieve your health and wellness goals by taking an integrated approach that focuses on physical and mental health. We help you discover strengths, resources, and strategies that will enable you to make behavior changes leading to a healthier lifestyle. Our health coach uses proven and science-based information to help guide and motivate you towards your goals. 

Whether you are in your health, wellness, or fitness journey, we are here and ready to help you achieve those goals.

Health Coaching for Weightloss 

Here at Alternative Pathways, we believe in promoting a healthy and happy lifestyle, which means making long-lasting cognitive-behavioral changes. We take an integrated approach to weight loss, focusing not only on making your goals attainable but linking both physical and mental aspects that may be keeping you from your goal weight. We focus on changing your thoughts, behaviors, and relationship with food.

Evidence-Based Approach 

At Alternative Pathways, we create all of our programs using evidence-based interventions and scientific research. Our weight-loss program is based on the characteristic set forth by the NIH for choosing a safe and effective weight-loss program. We use the Transtheoretical Change Model, cognitive-behavioral techniques, coaching, and a narrative approach to make change real and attainable for you. We stay up to date on the latest research and news in the health coaching, and wellness world, so that you receive the most up-to-date information and evidence-based support during your time in our program.

No More Fad Diets, and Unrealistic Goals

No more fad diets that are bland, often unhealthy, and leave you feeling unsatisfied. Diets may work for some, but it's not sustainable to be on one diet forever. That's why our program focuses on cognitive behavioral change, to help you understand your food choices, and behaviors surrounding the foods you eat.

Healthy Food

What does our Weight-Loss Program offer? 
 

  • Behavioral focus- This aspect of the program focuses on identifying lifestyle choices, as well as mental health and emotional barriers to improving health and wellness.

  • Information about sleep, managing stress, and the effects of stress on the body. 

  • Support - You are not in this alone. Weight-Loss Program participants have access to weekly 60-minute health coaching sessions, mid-week check in's with their health coach, monitoring and communication with their health coach. 

  • Slow and steady weight‐loss sustainable goals (1 – 2 pounds per week).

  • Post weight loss management - A plan for keeping the weight off – goal-setting, self‐checks, and support planning.

  • Tools and assessments to help you track and reach your goals. 

  • Hypnosis for weight loss sessions (optional). 

  • Weekly newsletter with recipe and workout inspiration, and resources! 

Health coaching clients also have the option to work with our health coach to complete smart shopping trips- where you and the health coach shop for groceries online together, and pantry makeovers, where your health coach works with you to revamp your pantry!
