What is Hypnosis? 

Hypnosis is the induction of a state of consciousness in which a person is in a heightened state of focused relaxation, and suggestibility. 

An individual's senses grow stronger while in a state of hypnosis and are completely aware of their environment & activities taking place around them. 


A person cannot be made to do anything in a hypnotic state that they would not normally do. You are not under the control of the Hypnotist, you are in complete control as it is your mind and your body.  

Common Myths About Hypnosis 

A client will not remember what happens when in a state of hypnosis.

This is a common misconception and not true. A client's senses are heightened during a session.

A client does not have control over their actions when in a state of hypnosis. 

This is not true. The client is in complete control as it is their mind and their body.

A client is too lethargic to respond to an emergency situation when in a state of hypnosis. 

This is a common fear, however, your senses are actually heightened, therefore you would respond as you normally would in any emergency situation.

What a Hypnosis Session is like with Alternative Pathways 

At Alternative Pathways, we provide hypnosis sessions online to you from the comfort of your own home. We also provide you with self-hypnosis techniques that you can use far beyond your sessions.  

All you need is a safe comfortable space where you can relax free of distractions. You will also need a phone or reliable internet connection, headphones are recommended but not necessary.

Relax the mind and body and focus on yourself with guided meditations. 

Work with one of our providers to design a unique meditation script written just for you and your specific needs. 

You will receive a recorded video for you to access anytime you need. 

In the process of creating your own unique guided meditation, we will also help teach you the tools you need to practice meditation without a guide.
